Carnegie Library Crosby

As part of its Libraries Review, Sefton Council closed Carnegie Library in December 2013. The Council has made 3 attempts to find a suitable tenant, beginning with the Friends of Carnegie Library, followed by Regenerus, and most recently a private-sector business consortium.

£3.6bn Towns Fund announced by Government

On 6th September 2019, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government announced the first wave of towns which have been invited to develop proposals for a share of the £3.6bn Towns Fund.

Southport has been selected as one of 45 townships within the Northern Power House area.
