Some of Sefton’s most beautiful green fields could be lost forever under Labour plans for hundreds of new homes.
Residents who love our wide open green spaces, vital for healthy lifestyles as well as precious wildlife and habitats, should be alert to the risks that now come with Labour’s home building ambitions.
The threat arises as the government has changed the way it decides how much housing Sefton needs annually, up from 578 to 1,360.
New rules make it easier for the council to fast track housing estates on so called Grey Belt land ….old car parks, poor quality farm land and abandoned sites, in the Green Belt.
And the problem is that as Sefton can no longer guarantee a five year supply for housing land, it is vulnerable to housing schemes across the borough.
Your 3 Conservative candidates will oppose any further destruction of greenbelt land or countryside by Labour ran Sefton Council.
