Marcus Bleasdale is the son of Colin Bleasdale and Frances Martland.
The Martland family rented & farmed Aintree Hall Farm, one of Aintree’s Farms, from the Earl of Sefton in the early 1900’s.
Sam Bleasdale, Marcus’ Grandfather, through his company the Sefton Building Company Ltd. of Aintree, bought the land from the Earl of Sefton.
Aintree Village was largely designed & built by the Sefton Building Co. Ltd between the 1930’s & the early 1970’s. This included the building of c. 2,500 semi-detached houses, the roads, the library (closed by our Labour Council) & the three Shopping Centres, amongst other buildings. They also built a large number homes across Maghull, including on both sides of Northway and on the Lake District estate. The Bleasdale family helped pioneer home ownership locally in the 1930’s, linking with building societies & offering working families the opportunity to finance the purchase of their own homes.
Marcus was the Conservative Party Candidate at the 2024 General Election in Sefton Central, defeating the Reform UK candidate easily. He is the President of the Sefton Conservative Federation, and would bring a wealth of experience to Sefton Council.
